About The Civil Engineering Department
The department was established in the academic year 1976/1977, and currently contains five main divisions where
students can specialize in:
- Structural Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- Environmental and Water recourses Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Construction Management.
Actually the University of Jordan does not provide a specification for its graduates from the Civil Engineering
department, students are just graduated as Civil Engineers. So, to be specialized in one major students should take
courses related to the major they'd like to work in, and include these courses in their CV for the company they are
applying for.
Graduate studies are also provided; masters degrees in Structural, Transportation and Water and Environmental
Engineering are available. And there is only a Ph.D program offered by the department in Structural Engineering.
